Commophora kataf Turkanensis

COMMIPHORA KATAF SUBSP. TURKANENSIS

This is a very interesting plant found in the Eastern part of Africa. In natural habitat, it can grow up to 5 meters in height.

I love this plant because of the unique skin of the bark. The bark is white papery and comes out at places. the leaves are pointed downwards. its a deciduous plant. So when I first got the plant in winter there were no leaves. only the stems. From Nov to March it was dormant. the first sign of leaves I noticed in the mid-March. I was over joyed to feel the first sign of life in the plant.
this plant loves very draining soil. You need to water it only twice in the week during the growing season season. There is no need to water it during the winter.
